The Edwin brand was created from its founder Mr Tsunemi’s love of denim, beginning in Japan in 1947. At the point of the brand’s inception, denim was not made in Japan, it had to be imported from the US but without the worn, rugged finish that Mr Tsunemi wanted.
It was this that spurred him on to manufacture his own denim, one of the highest quality he could produce and to his exacting specifications. After this process was refined came the very first pair of Edwin jeans in 1961.
The hoodie took off in the 1970s, with several factors contributing to its success. Hip hop culture developed in New York City around this time, and high fashion also contributed during this era, as Norma Kamali and other high-profile designers embraced and glamorized the new clothing.

NICCE was established in 2013. Founder & creative director Mitchel Galvin-Farnol identified a gap in the market for clean, simple, quality contemporary casual-wear and streetwear. He had spent time working in Ibiza where he was drawn into the island and inspired by its inhabitants, style and music. When Mitchel returned to London he took this clean-cut, honest and no-fuss approach to life and fused it with what was happening at London’s street level to create an original clothing brand that everyone could, and would want to wear.
